Nate Perry and Todd Watson

This weekend we visit The Projects again to film some locals who actually call The Projects home. Nate Perry and Todd Watson get tricky in their backyard on a cold winter day when I know for a fact that they would rather have been sleeping. Enjoy The Projects life of Nate and Todd.

Project PERRY: technical proof-of-principle (version 0.1)

A proof-of-concept for Project PERRY, an enhanced stored-value card that incorporates e-paper to display a passenger's current remaining balance. Courtesy GROUNDlab's resident coil-design genius Todd Bailey, here's a somewhat exploded version with all the essential parts - a coil, a microcontroller (powered wirelessly by the same current that allows the card to pay the fare) and the e-paper display itself, which decrements the stated value on the card with just a quick tap. This rough proof-of-principle was followed by a technical prototype http://vimeo.com/35340626 More information on Project PERRY: http://urbanscale.org/projects/farevalue/ Developed in partnership with GROUNDlab: http://home.groundlab.cc/
